Ramshackle and sun downers

Tuesday is a quiet relaxing day by the pool after the exertions and excitement of Bridge Town yesterday.

As usual Gem and Hank go walking while we soak up the sun. They are off to Hole Town again.

Today is even hotter than yesterday and my plan to be "simon Williams" black is coming along nicely.

Thomas the gardener arrives soon after Gem and Hank leave. He brings me a conch shell to take home. No sign of the fish he promised though. Again he doesn't do any gardening!

After a couple of hours Gem and Hank return with stories of a trip to Speightstown - what happened to their plans to go to Hole Town? As always they found another bar to stop in. They're full of stories about Fisherman's bar and another trip on a yellow reggae bus. They return with lovely fruit and veg that they bought from a street vendor. The avocado is the size of a football! (well a small one maybe).

After a plunge in the pool we sit to read with music from the iPod in the background. Ahhh, I love Barbados.

As the afternoon wears on Hank. Starts to get itchy feet again and suggests an early a evening stroll (yes you guessed it) to a bar for sundowners before dinner back at the villa. But instead of strolling to Ramshackle bar we call Keisha who's there to pick us up in less than 10 minutes.

Gem and Hank have already paid a visit to Ramshackle on one of their "walks.". It's a first for me and mum and we immediately love it.

Gem has brought a pack of cards and after getting our first drinks we start to play gin rummy (funny how it's drink related). Mum says she doesn't known how to play so I help. After two games she's winning every hand! Hank says she's a hustler.

We watch the sun go down, surprisingly quickly. We spend he next couple of hours drinking, playing cards and checking out the punters as they come into the bar. Really people should put on clothes at this time of the evening!

A quick call from Keisha and she is back to pick us up with Andy who was our driver from airport.

Dinner is mainly left overs from last night and tastes even better today. We cooked some fish with a secret marinade! I've got Gem cooking like a black woman again! We, eat and chill to watch Day After Tomorrow and Armageddon!

Another day over! It's going far too quickly! TTFN!
